‘Who’s been eating my porridge?’

7th Oct 2022

This week we have had a lot of children off sick in the class. We hope they are all feeling better and will be back with us soon!

The week started on a busy note with the children using vegetables being harvested at this time of the week to make vegetable soup. They helped to wash, peel, chop and then eat the finished product.

We have been learning the story of Goldilocks and this has created great imaginative play and conversation so when a massive box arrived in school there was only one thing to do with it… turn it into the three bears cottage! The children worked to plan and make this before role playing the story

We have also been reading other fairytales and after reading the magic porridge pot decided to make porridge for snack. The children really enjoyed eating this with some coming back for two and three bowls… so it was obviously ‘just right’!
We are looking at matching things and making sets of things that belong together and also developing a sense of pulse through music and movement.

The Goldilocks rap is proving very popular so we have made a recording for you although it is still very much a work in progress- even for Mrs Phair!!

sharing and turn taking is causing some difficulties in the room so we will be focusing on this next week.
