Enniskillen Nursery School, Enniskillen

September has flown by!

2nd Oct 2022

This week we had a new experience as the children stayed in school for dinner. Generally, there are four  hot items available each day and we put a little bit of everything on the children’s plates to allow them to try and then they can ask for more of an item they like. We do not routinely keep a check of what individuals eat as we only have two staff in the dinner room however, if we are concerned about how little your child is eating we will speak to you.

We enjoyed sitting on our new tables that have been paid for through nursery fund and are a great addition to our school.

This week we were practising putting on our waterproofs as the weather turned a little. The children are trying really hard with this and are remembering to put the waterproofs and wellies in the right places.

This week we were thinking about foods that are grown in the gardens with apples from Mrs Pattison’s garden and kale, courgettes and leeks from Mrs Phair’s garden. It is great to see children taking an interest in where our foods come from and understanding how important it is the look after the world around us.

We introduced scissors to the art table and have been showing children how to hold, carry and use these safely.

Remember, next week pickup is between 1.20- 1.30. Please buzz the gate as you arrive and be prepared for some very tired children as they adjust to this lengthened day
