Autumn has arrived!

14th Oct 2022

This week was all about recognising the changing season and what that means for us. The children have enjoyed sorting confers, acorns and leaves as well as looking at different types of leaves. We have been learning Autumn songs and looking at animals who like to go to sleep for the Winter.

We have been developing our sense of rhythm using tapping sticks and lots of movement songs.

We have been hunting for squares in the outdoor space and also have been brushing up all the fallen leaves.

The children enjoyed making junk art creations and blowing big bubbles in the classroom. We are learning to set the table and put the right items together.

We worked together to pull the enormous turnip after reading the story.

Outdoors we planted daffodil bulbs and we are learning how it is important to take care of these plants during the winter months so that the flower will grow in Spring.

Your child has a ‘treasure bag’ home with them today and it would be great if you had time over the weekend to go on a bit of an Autumn walk to collect some things that they can share in class on Monday.
